Color Wheel

I need your help. I have decided to paint my room. I have always wanted a blue room and my Mom would never allow it since it wasn't in the same shade as mother of pearl or eggshell. But now that I have my own place I can do whatever I want (you won't find a single white wall in my house, sorry Mom). Now I need to narrow down my final choices. I have decided that I like the three bottom colors on each of the samples, so let me know which of the three you like best by commenting either 1, 2, or 3. 1 being the one on the left, 2 the one in the middle and 3 the one on the right. I appreciate your help!

CornerView: Best Kept Secret

Okay, I don't know how much of a secret this place is, as there are always people there when I am there, but I thought I would share it with you anyway. I first tried Bellissimo Gelato after being told, by a true Italian, that it was the best gelato he had had outside of Italy. As I have never been to Italy I decided to take his word for it and I am glad I did. This gelato was amazing and I have gone back many times with many people and tried many different flavors and combinations. So if you are in the Salt Lake area be sure to check them out.

CornerView: 7:45

First a disclaimer, I was in vacation mode for this weeks CornerView so the first two photos are as close to 7:45 as I could get. On Sunday I totally spaced my camera so the photo is from a similar event at the same place a few weeks prior.

Friday: In Boise, ID with Becky. This heart bump is for you!

Saturday: While in Idaho I saw the new Harry Potter movie...twice. After flying home, I had to start reading the book again...naturally.

Sunday: It was off to my families house for dinner then over to the cousins for some homemade peach cobbler. Thanks Collin!

Red Sea? No. Just the Great Salt Lake in Bloom

As I was flying out of Salt Lake on my way to Boise, I was taking in the sights of the Great Salt Lake outside of the window. When without warning the lake turned from blue to red. Okay, so it wasn't really without warning as a causeway cuts the lake in half leaving the northern half quite a bit more salty, and therefore more prone to algae blooms, then the southern portion of the lake. I can't say that I have ever seen this part of the lake from this vantage point before. It really was quite a sight to take in and I am glad I got my camera out in time to catch the northernmost tip of the lake.

Here are a few pictures of the southern end of the lake for comparison. It truly is amazing what a difference a few (million) bits of salt can do.

I can't take a serious picture, its not in my nature and I wouldn't even know where to start if it was. So, you get this. Also I am not above pimping myself out on my blog. CornerView: Places of Reflection

This weeks CornerView is Places of Worship or Places of Reflection. Whenever I need to slip away or be at one with my thoughts I head out into the expanses of nature. It is there, away from the hustle and bustle of life, that I can truly be and reflect on everything. I am lucky enough to live in a state like Utah that has so much open space; nature is never far away. The pictures below were taken at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon which is roughly fifteen minutes from my house and Little Wild Horse Canyon which is about 3 hours south.

Would You Pass The Test?

Over the 4th of July holiday weekend MSNBC had a few questions from the test that immigrants must take to become a citizen. I took the test and passed with an 85% (you have to get at least 85% to become a citizen) which I didn't think was to shabby. My Dad and brothers also took the test with my Dad being the only one who passed with a 95% score. So, I want to know how well you would do. Old Parts

I am getting old. Yesterday I developed a nice back ache while playing football with a bunch of youngsters. I am still not sure how it happened but what I do know is that I am now in need of a cane. During two birthday parties (Happy B-Day's to Jess, Michelle, and D) I was told that I was walking like an old man. This condition only made itself more prevalent while trying to go to sleep later that night. I could not get comfortable. I tried every spot on my bed, the floor, the couch, a chair; all to no avail. Finally around 1 am I gave in to the sleep monster only to wake up at various points during the night wincing from the pain in my back. Today I have tried stretching it and that seems to have helped a little, or that could be the pain killers finally kicking in. So if you see me out and about this weekend hunched over walking at a snails pace, now you know why. Now its off to the early bird buffet. If I am going to walk like a senior citizen I might as well act like one was well!
