Ugly Love

One of my favorite things about winter is that I can finally break out the sweaters. But I am not talking about just any normal sweater. No, I am talking about the ugly sweater. You know the ones I am talking about, the one that was given to you by a distant relative who you hardly know or that you picked up at a second hand store for an Ugly Sweater Party. Yes, I have a strange attraction to the ugly sweater. I blame the Scandinavian blood in me because I would totally wear this:

I can't help it I love the ugly sweater.

Take a Hike

This summer a group of us attempted a Saturday Hiking Club and I think it was a complete success. Why? Because I got to explore parts of the state that I had never really explored before. The worst part of this crime is that most of these hikes were within 20 minutes of my house. I am glad that I got to find and enjoy these new places of wonder in nature. I have picked one picture from each hike that best captures what were the many highlights and attributes of each. I hope you enjoy. Travel Rewind: New York

Welcome to my very first Travel Rewind post. Periodically I will post a few pictures and thoughts from my travels. Up first New York circa 2004. This was my first, and so far only, trip to the Big Apple. Like most of my trips it turned into a walking trip with a few Subway rides thrown in for good measure. (This was a necessity as were were staying with family in Brooklyn) I am always amazed by what you see when you get out of the car, bus, train, whatever. It seems like when you are at street level you really get a feel for what a city is all about and New York is one of the ultimate cites for walking. There is so much to see but really I was just in awe of the canyons of Skyscrapers. I will defiantly go back to New York to take in more of what the city as to offer.

My Backyard

I can't imagine my backyard without the Wasatch Mountains.

My Theme Song

Awhile back someone asked me what my theme song was. A song immediately came into my mind but I wasn't sure that I would call it my theme song. After that I listened to it again and realized that it is my theme song...for right now anyway. So here it is.

Lisa Falls

During our Saturday hike last week we stumbled (ok not really but we did drive up and down the canyon looking for it) Lisa Falls. These amazing falls are 2.6 miles up Little Cottonwood and are a short, fairly easy hike from the road. I can't believe that I had never been there before. Therefore I thought I would share them with you to enjoy as well, cause I am nice like that!

The Saturday Hikes (So Far)

With spring and the warmer weather comes hiking. This year some of us ( click here, here, here and here for some of the gang) have started a little Saturday Hike Club. Sure, not everyone can come every week and the spring weather can delay us a week; but so far so good. Here is a sample of what we have been up to so far.

Junk in the Trunk

First a disclaimer. Don't try this at home. I am a professional. You should not put yourself or anyone else into any trunk. EVER. In the rare event that you do find yourself in a trunk please know that all US cars must have an emergency release handle. Most of these handles glow in the dark. Like I said, I am a professional.

This week's CornerView is all about our own personal style. As you can see by the jeans and hoodie I am not very stylish. That's were the Dodge Charger comes in, it is one sexy beast. A CornerView Holiday Recap

This year we were lucky enough to have snow for Christmas.

My niece borrowed my camera and I have about 20 pictures of this manger scene.

I am lucky to have a large family and extended family so close. Here we all are at one of our finer moments.

No, I did not build this Gingerbread House but I am a little sad that is it bigger then my real house.

And last but not least a new Holiday Tradition was born...of course it involves food!
